If the owner of the establishment corrects this policy I will consider changing this review to reflect that change. Until then, parents who are dropping their children off should know in advance, you are not respected, and the Daytona Arcade Museum does not have the safety of children and their guests as their top priority.
I decided to allow my kids to go because I do trust the family who booked the establishment for their party, and because my kids were looking forward to it so much. I hope I don't regret that choice.
I'd leave zero stars if that was possible so that's why there is even one star. Let's be clear, I'm not reviewing the museum, but their lack of respect for responsible parents.
Until I KNOW that this policy is changed we will not make a return visit.
This place was incredible! The staff were super friendly, the place was spotlessly clean, and the nominal $20 fee to get in was well worth it. There were more video and pinball games than we could play in an afternoon. Listening to and watching 80s MTV videos while playing the games made the experience completely perfect. We had SO much fun!!!
As a parent I am responsible for making sure my kids are safe. The Daytona Arcade Museum denied me the parental right to check out the place my kids are going to be playing for the next five hours. I find that to be an offensive and irresponsible policy of the owner of this establishment. The workers insisted that is the policy of the owner. I asked them to leave a message for the owner stating my opinions. But since I don't know if the owner will ever get my message, I'm leaving it here too, where everyone will see it.
Quite expensive if you go with someone else as it's $20 a piece. But it was a lot of fun! Loved all the old games and the music! Worth the money if you spend a few hours playing all the games a few times each.
My children were invited to a birthday party on 11/25/2017, from noon to 5pm, at the Arcade Museum. I thought that would be a really cool place to have a party and we were all excited. We went there to drop them off, and that's where all the good feelings dissipated.
Nostalgia Galore!!!! Huge variety of arcade games and pinball machines to play over and over again all day long! Great 80's music videos playing on the back wall just gives you that awesome time warp back to your childhood! Took my girl to show her how games used to be like and she just loved it, and actually learned a little about how far graphics have come. They even have a little New York Style pizzeria, we tried their calzone and it was amazing! Definitely worth it!
I had never been there and my kids had never been there. From the front lobby it is impossible to see the museum area where the party was being held. Since I wasn't going to the party the staff at the front entrance REFUSED to allow me to accompany my children to the party area, say hello to the family who invited us, and make a quick check of the place to see if it looked safe.
Great place for families to hang out and play retro-for-you new-to-them games at one flat fee. Decent drink selection, reasonable food. Great 80s feel.
